U-16: Shannon Gaels U-16's

Shannon Gaels u-16's Shannon Gaels 5-13 Mullingar Shamrocks 6-5 On a beautiful May evening Shannon Gaels played Mullingar Shamrocks in Tang. Both sides played open, attacking football with Shannon Gaels holding the upper hand in the first half. Mullingar Shamrocks fought back bravely finding the net three times in the second half and went two pts up late in the half but Shannon Gaels hit back with 2-4 in a five min spell to put the game beyond doubt and although Mullingar Shamrocks finished with a goal from the spot kick, that was not to be enough. Both teams are to be commended for the entertaining match helped in no way by the referee who also had a superb match. It is a breath of fresh air to see new and upcoming referees and this can only be good for gaa.
