Junior: Tang 1-15 Rosemount 2-14

Tang 1-15 Rosemount 2-14 Tang made the short trip to Rosemount on Saturday evening. Tang played with a strong breeze on their backs in the first half but it was Rosemount who took the match to Tang. Rosemount led 4pts to 1 after 8 mins before Tang eventually got going adding 3 pts in a row to draw level, however this was short lived as Rosemount found the net for a vital score. Rosemount finished the half very strongly adding another goal and 3pts. Tang did claw two pts back to trail at the interval 2-7 to 0-6. The second half started nip and tuck with both sides exchanging pts. Tang gradually started eating the lead and Tang were now enjoying a purple patch scoring 1-4 with Shane Coughlan getting the goal. Tang now trailed by a pt but Rosemount rallied to kick three important pts. Tang now needed a goal but despite a couple of gallant efforts, were unable to breach the Rosemount defence and Rosemount won a very entertaining match on a score line of 2-14 to 1-15. Tang will be disappointed with their lacklustre first half but take encouragement with a fighting second half. Tang’s next match is a home game against Kinnegad on weekend of June 9th.
